Oui Sports - Winter Edition

Sports are a great way to warm up on a cold day, but sadly all the outdoor sports Ben was ready to teach... Well none of them play so well in a foot plus of snow. And that foot plus was after getting help from those with magic who could melt some of it down for them. And when Mal was asked about winter sports on the Isle the answer was "It's more like... gang activity, than sports. And if someone broke their leg, we kinda laughed, so... Not really applicable here."

So they instead asked the Missrecalled to show off games and sports that can be played in deep snow. But the best games need more than one person, so maybe you need to find someone to play with?

Happy Little Cleaning Song

After so long with so many people all cramped into the school for so long that there was more than a little bit of mess. They could use a hand clearing everything up. Whistling while you work and a spoonful of sugar were both advised. But cleaning was always a better task with a buddy! And Team Work Makes The Dream Work, right?


The Isle

Gang Activities

What had once been a dank and dreary school in a mausoleum was now an icy dreary one. The ground outside was a mix of ice, muddy slush, and rocks. Neither fun nor pretty. But it was probably safer outside than in, and easier to be active dodging doomstones than skidding down the halls into broken lockers. But it was still frigid out. Perhaps some activity would help warm you up. But what? And whom with? Snowball fights might be a little extra dangerous, with all the muck mixed in and no place to go warm up. But maybe someone might be up for it anyway? Or stealing a doomstone to sled down the roof? What are you gonna do to stay warm?


Got No Chill?

Someone decided that there needed to be a fire to warm people up. Maybe that would have been a good idea, if the person who had started the fire had anything clue about fire safety. They - or maybe you! - had started the fire in one of the classrooms using broken desks for kindling. But the fire quickly spread to the other desks in the room and with so much paper detritus in the halls! Stop the fire, warn people, run away! Pick you poison but do it fast, the way this fire's spreading, this school might not last!

"Are you crazy, there's no other way out of there."

But he doubted that he would be able to convince her to take another course, so Iroh redoubled his efforts of cutting off the path of the fire. Heat for ignition, fuel to consume, and air, were the things that fire required to live. Remove but a single one and the flames could not continue. While River worked to limit the flow of air giving it breath, Iroh worked to remove the fuel that would offer it strength, even if neither could be entirely removed, by limiting both they could hopefully put it out.

She managed to get herself wedged into the hole, facing out into the room. That gave her a better vantage too. Of course she was now in to tight to pull her sonic. Even if it worked here. "There are more desks around the other side," she called.

Working from the outside and moving in, he circled around the fire almost in a dance of sliding and moving desks, using the motion of some to knock and move others out of the path while also being careful not to fan the flames or cause any of the embers or ash to spread potentially causing other fires.

"Be careful of the smoke, it is as dangerous as the flames themselves."

"Yes and it rises, I'm aware. Some speed would be appreciated."

"I'm afraid I'm not quite as agile as I used to be. But I will try."

It wasn't long before he'd created a buffer around the flames to ensure that they would not spread any further. Now there was just the matter of getting the flames that were there to die down.

"That will already make you more useful than some people..." Her smile, ven through the smoke, was wry.

"Good to know that this old man is still of some use then. Though everyone has some use, even if it may be hard to see."

Careful not to fan the flames, Iroh began to tamper and stomp at the smaller flames towards the edge as the heart quickly started burning through the limited fuel that it had left.

"Old man?" she chuckles. "If I had to guess you're less than half my husband's age. No one here is likely to see you as old. Excepting, perhaps, the children."
