A huge magical costume ball was happening in the royal palace. Anyone who wished a magical costume would find one appearing on them when they entered. It could be just a costume and small mask, or anything else all the way up to full on enveloping illusion. There is food and music and dancing, but it can be hard to know if your dance partner is someone you've never met, or maybe your childhood best friend.
Growing the future
The greenhouse has been growing fresh food, and it will soon be time for the first harvest. Or it would have been, but a bad storm broke several windows. The plants are no longer protected from the weather, and the pots are filled with glass. The fruits and vegetables aren't ripe yet. But... what can there be done? Should the food be harvested anyway? What about the glass? Can the greenhouse be fixed? Can the plants be saved? Something should probably be done, but what?
Throwing A Ball - Right Into The Sea
There is a party on the Isle, but there is nothing calm or polite about this party. The music is loud and the bass was all the way up, giving the whole Isle - or at least the few parts of it that were accessible - all felt like a living being with a thumping irregular heart beat. The music was inescapable, and the party spilled out of the school all the way down to the ocean.
Some of the Misery-called liked the music, but after the first hour or so, most of them probably wanted to escape it. But the ocean was no escape, as the thumping beat has stirred up all the crocodiles, and they are swarming the beach.
The speakers themselves are built into the walls of the school, and it is one of the Teachers with the controls. But none of the teachers can be easily found, and the music probably needs to be stopped before the crocodiles decided to do it themselves...
Lessons Unlearned
For as miserable as this place was, it was still a school. And now classes were made mandatory. But anyone who had something to teach could do that instead of being a student. But because the Headmaster was known to skulk around, teaching actually had to be occurring, or for the students, they had to at least be in their seats making some vague motions towards pretending that they were paying attention. He didn't seem to care if they were whispering in the back, or doodling, or even napping if they were clever about hiding it, just that there was a teacher present attempting to teach and students present who were bodies in chairs. That, of course, left a lot of wiggle room for what was Actually going on in the dank musty classrooms.
