Oui Sports - Winter Edition

Sports are a great way to warm up on a cold day, but sadly all the outdoor sports Ben was ready to teach... Well none of them play so well in a foot plus of snow. And that foot plus was after getting help from those with magic who could melt some of it down for them. And when Mal was asked about winter sports on the Isle the answer was "It's more like... gang activity, than sports. And if someone broke their leg, we kinda laughed, so... Not really applicable here."

So they instead asked the Missrecalled to show off games and sports that can be played in deep snow. But the best games need more than one person, so maybe you need to find someone to play with?

Happy Little Cleaning Song

After so long with so many people all cramped into the school for so long that there was more than a little bit of mess. They could use a hand clearing everything up. Whistling while you work and a spoonful of sugar were both advised. But cleaning was always a better task with a buddy! And Team Work Makes The Dream Work, right?


The Isle

Gang Activities

What had once been a dank and dreary school in a mausoleum was now an icy dreary one. The ground outside was a mix of ice, muddy slush, and rocks. Neither fun nor pretty. But it was probably safer outside than in, and easier to be active dodging doomstones than skidding down the halls into broken lockers. But it was still frigid out. Perhaps some activity would help warm you up. But what? And whom with? Snowball fights might be a little extra dangerous, with all the muck mixed in and no place to go warm up. But maybe someone might be up for it anyway? Or stealing a doomstone to sled down the roof? What are you gonna do to stay warm?


Got No Chill?

Someone decided that there needed to be a fire to warm people up. Maybe that would have been a good idea, if the person who had started the fire had anything clue about fire safety. They - or maybe you! - had started the fire in one of the classrooms using broken desks for kindling. But the fire quickly spread to the other desks in the room and with so much paper detritus in the halls! Stop the fire, warn people, run away! Pick you poison but do it fast, the way this fire's spreading, this school might not last!

Sephiroth nodded. "Very well then. I won't ask you to go over any of that." That would be pointless.

"I don't mind, but there is no reason to bore you going over it separately."

Sephiroth nodded. "Is there anything more I should know that isn't covered in the pamphlet?"

[aquawayfinder]

"I can tell you about some of the individuals here, if you like."

[3wingedangel]

"That would be helpful," he agreed.

[aquawayfinder]

"Alright. Well there is King Ben and Queen Mal, of course. There is Mallia, Kyoko, Morgana, Sylvando, a whole gaggle of kids, Lea... Pick someone and I'll give you the information."

"Morgana," Sephiroth chose, since the name reminded him of Arthurian legends.

Would he be in for a surprise.

[aquawayfinder]

"Morgana. She's the tall lovely duck woman you will probably see around. She, like Utau and Mal, seems to think she has to show a harder side most of the time, but she's a wonderful person when you get to know her. And she has a fantastic singing voice. Music seems to be a passion of hers."

Well, that was not what he expected, but she sounded interesting.

"A duck woman? Hm. Does she know Donald?"

Still grasping at straws, hoping for more people from home.

[aquawayfinder]

"Perhaps, I haven't actually asked her any more than I'd expect her to ask if I knew some random human she's met."

Sephiroth smirked a bit. "Of course. I just thought she might have said." Donald was quite famous, after all.

[aquawayfinder]

"I have not gotten to speak to her much. I'm not all that much her aesthetic, apparently." She chuckled.

[3wingedangel]

"And what is her aesthetic?" Sephiroth wondered. In this type of situation, it seemed everyone should become familiar with each other, especially if it wasn't a large group.

[aquawayfinder]

"Red, black, dark and gloomy," she said with a chuckle. "She has that in common with Utau, in addition to music."

[3wingedangel]

"Hm. Maybe she'd get along with me then," Sephiroth remarked, eyeing his black coat with red trim.

[aquawayfinder]

She chuckled. "Could be."

[3wingedangel]

"Alright, why don't you pick someone to tell me about," Sephiroth said.

[aquawayfinder]

She considered a moment. "Xion," she said, finally. "She's one of the kids. Looks about 13 or so, but she's really closer to three when it comes to lived experience. She's very shy and is scared of nearly everyone except for Lea and Roxas," Aqua warned kindly. "So don't take it personally if she takes one look at you and runs away. That has nothing to do with you. She does that with everyone she isn't already comfortable with. Her backstory is her own, but without breaking confidences I can say that she wasn't well treated before she escaped. Her trust issues hamper her, but I can understand why she has them."

"I see," Sephiroth said. "I will respect her needs." He doubted he would know how to handle such problems, so he hoped he would not end up actually needing to talk to her for some reason. "Is there any danger of those who hurt her showing up here?"

[aquawayfinder]

"Yes," she said, as close to grim as Aqua was likely to get when not in front of them at that moment. "And she is aware of that. Which is part of why you'll rarely see her alone."

[3wingedangel]

That was certainly concerning.

"Has she told you what they look like?" he asked.

[aquawayfinder]

She doesn't have to," she said, still grim. "I've fought them myself." Many times.

That was disturbing.

"Where?" he asked, assuming it wasn't here.
