Oui Sports - Winter Edition

Sports are a great way to warm up on a cold day, but sadly all the outdoor sports Ben was ready to teach... Well none of them play so well in a foot plus of snow. And that foot plus was after getting help from those with magic who could melt some of it down for them. And when Mal was asked about winter sports on the Isle the answer was "It's more like... gang activity, than sports. And if someone broke their leg, we kinda laughed, so... Not really applicable here."

So they instead asked the Missrecalled to show off games and sports that can be played in deep snow. But the best games need more than one person, so maybe you need to find someone to play with?

Happy Little Cleaning Song

After so long with so many people all cramped into the school for so long that there was more than a little bit of mess. They could use a hand clearing everything up. Whistling while you work and a spoonful of sugar were both advised. But cleaning was always a better task with a buddy! And Team Work Makes The Dream Work, right?

The Isle

Gang Activities

What had once been a dank and dreary school in a mausoleum was now an icy dreary one. The ground outside was a mix of ice, muddy slush, and rocks. Neither fun nor pretty. But it was probably safer outside than in, and easier to be active dodging doomstones than skidding down the halls into broken lockers. But it was still frigid out. Perhaps some activity would help warm you up. But what? And whom with? Snowball fights might be a little extra dangerous, with all the muck mixed in and no place to go warm up. But maybe someone might be up for it anyway? Or stealing a doomstone to sled down the roof? What are you gonna do to stay warm?

Got No Chill?

Someone decided that there needed to be a fire to warm people up. Maybe that would have been a good idea, if the person who had started the fire had anything clue about fire safety. They - or maybe you! - had started the fire in one of the classrooms using broken desks for kindling. But the fire quickly spread to the other desks in the room and with so much paper detritus in the halls! Stop the fire, warn people, run away! Pick you poison but do it fast, the way this fire's spreading, this school might not last!

Sephiroth had understood pretty much none of that. Ironically, her mixed-up last sentence made more sense to him than the rest. He nodded slowly. "Likewise.

"So, it would seem neither of us knows where we are. We should speak with someone who didn't just arrive."

He looked around at the people playing. They seemed to be quite settled in.

"If I could just find a landline, I could call home to get the Gate opened for me. Um.... Are you not divine?"

"I don't suppose you could open a portal to Hollow Bastion too?" he said.

With someone else he might make a crack at that question, but he was pretty sure the joke would not go over well here judging from how their conversation had been so far. So he said, "No. You are?"

"I can check with Peorth, but so long as you're not a Demon, I don't see why not." She wasn't intentionally dodging the other question, she just lost the thread.

"I'm not a Demon," he said. Although the strange claw-like bones on top of his wings might make some wonder that.

"Then the Gate should accept you, nope problem."

"That's good to know," he said. "I would like to get home."

But since they had been brought in by some mysterious force and he could not teleport out like he normally could have, he was very concerned that this Gate might not work either.

"Does it work under any circumstances other than Demons?"

"Well the Gate did go strike on a while ago, but I think she's done with that now. Can you help me form the mandala?"

Sephiroth stared, deadpan, even though inwardly he was having a complete WTH reaction. "... The Gate. Went on strike." And was a she. Was this day going to get any stranger?

He wasn't at all sure about this request either, since he had no idea what she was talking about. "How do I do that?"

She looked at his wings, then his face, clearly confused. "You don't know how to make a gate mandala?"

Even she could do that.

"No, I've never heard of that," he said honestly.

She blinked several times. Then she nodded. "Okay, I'll work on it then. Do you know your coordinates for arrival?"

"Yes," he said, and proceeded to give coordinates for Hollow Bastion as he knew how to give coordinates ... which probably would make as much sense to Chrono as her song did to Sephiroth.

"Hmmm.... we should ask Peorth, she'll know what to do with that," she said, nodding firmly.

"Where is she?" he asked.

"Back at Yggsrdil. We'll take the gate there and then she'll help us find where you should be."

She had no clue how displeased Peorth would be over this plan.

"Thank you," Sephiroth said. He really wanted to get back. He would say needed, but ... was he needed? He hadn't given up with Cloud, but it certainly hadn't been working as he had hoped it would. And aside from that, well ... no one would be missing him, including Cloud.

"Sure! Helping is the Goddess' way, after all!"

That was still so strange to think about, that he was conversing with a Goddess.

"When will the Gate be opened?" he wondered.

"Oh! Right! I have to make the mandala!" she said. "We need a lot of space. Let's head outside!"

Sephiroth followed her. "Alright. Do you need any items to make it?"

"No, I just need my magic," she said with a bright smile. "Well and some stones, but I'm sure we'll find plenty!"

"... Just regular, ordinary stones?" It shouldn't be hard, and yet maybe with so much snow, it would be.

"Special stones. But then all stones are special." She gave him a bright smile.

Sephiroth finally smiled a bit at that. It sounded like something Zack would say.

"There's a lot of snow here," he remarked. "It might make searching difficult."
