Oui Sports - Winter Edition

Sports are a great way to warm up on a cold day, but sadly all the outdoor sports Ben was ready to teach... Well none of them play so well in a foot plus of snow. And that foot plus was after getting help from those with magic who could melt some of it down for them. And when Mal was asked about winter sports on the Isle the answer was "It's more like... gang activity, than sports. And if someone broke their leg, we kinda laughed, so... Not really applicable here."

So they instead asked the Missrecalled to show off games and sports that can be played in deep snow. But the best games need more than one person, so maybe you need to find someone to play with?

Happy Little Cleaning Song

After so long with so many people all cramped into the school for so long that there was more than a little bit of mess. They could use a hand clearing everything up. Whistling while you work and a spoonful of sugar were both advised. But cleaning was always a better task with a buddy! And Team Work Makes The Dream Work, right?


The Isle

Gang Activities

What had once been a dank and dreary school in a mausoleum was now an icy dreary one. The ground outside was a mix of ice, muddy slush, and rocks. Neither fun nor pretty. But it was probably safer outside than in, and easier to be active dodging doomstones than skidding down the halls into broken lockers. But it was still frigid out. Perhaps some activity would help warm you up. But what? And whom with? Snowball fights might be a little extra dangerous, with all the muck mixed in and no place to go warm up. But maybe someone might be up for it anyway? Or stealing a doomstone to sled down the roof? What are you gonna do to stay warm?


Got No Chill?

Someone decided that there needed to be a fire to warm people up. Maybe that would have been a good idea, if the person who had started the fire had anything clue about fire safety. They - or maybe you! - had started the fire in one of the classrooms using broken desks for kindling. But the fire quickly spread to the other desks in the room and with so much paper detritus in the halls! Stop the fire, warn people, run away! Pick you poison but do it fast, the way this fire's spreading, this school might not last!

Oui Sports- Much Better Than Hoth

Look, if there was one thing Leia knew as a child, it was how do playtime to the fullest. That was why she was carefully plowing up snow and patting it together into a sturdy wall roughly in a half circle around her position. And forming a bunch of snowballs that she was stockpiling behind it. Like... a lot of snowballs. It seemed that there was a snowball fight in the works. Or at the very least some well defended snowball tossing. Will you join in or be the victim of an adorable rebel assault?

Leia was significantly less enthused about cleaning than she'd been about playing in the snow. Still, she figured she should do her part to help out, which was why she was wiping off some low shelves with a cloth, a mini duster hanging at her hip and little hand broom and dustpan at the ready nearby. "This place seriously needs some cleaning droids," she said to herself. Though she wasn't trying to keep quiet about it so most anyone nearby could have heard her.

Aqua had been taking what passed for a jog in the thick snow. It was extra work, but that was extra strength training. She saw someone building snowballs behind a wall and smiled. More quietly now, she moved to come up on the person from behind. Not to startle, but to offer help. But she stopped, stunned when she got close enough to realize it was someone she knew. "Leia?" she asked, to be sure. She dropped to one knee to be closer to eye level. "I'm sorry if I startled you. Do you remember who I am by any chance?"

Leia looked up when someone addressed her, then grinned when she saw who it was. "Aqua!", she said. "Course I remember you! I didn't know you were here too though."

She smiled brightly and swept Leia up into a somewhat snowy hug. "For a while now. Guessing you just arrived?"

Leia gladly returned the hug then nodded once Aqua could see her face again. "Just a couple days ago," she said. "I was really surprised, but it got me out of my etiquette class so I'm not really mad about it."

Cleaning

"No kidding, whatever those are," Mal said grinning as she came down the hall. "Heya, short stuff. So you got dragged here too then? There are a few of us from that place. Myself, Sylvando..."

Leia looked up, then grinned when she saw Mal. "Hi, Mal!", she said. "Yeah, I guess so. Is this your homeworld?"

"Howd'cha guess?" she asked as she hopped up on a table to sit. "c'mon, take a break. I have something to show you."

"A nice man with red hair gave me a paper along with the comm unit," she said. "It said you were the Queen here, so I figured that meant you must live here." Since people didn't generally become Queens in places where they didn't live.

She needed little encouragement to put down her rag and follow Mal. The hand broom and dustpan were similarly abandoned, while the mini duster bounced lightly at her hip as she walked. "What did you want to show me?"

Someone else was trying to help clean. And while she was noticeably taller than Leia, she was also significantly worse at cleaning. Case in point, she had been dusting an upper shelf when she suddenly went pale. Her possibly endearing klutziness to that point became an actual problem as she stumbled back, tripped over a chair and went flying. Unless Leia was fast, she was about to be squished!

Fortunately Leia was fast. Or else very lucky, as she'd moved to pick up the hand broom and dustpan when the young won came crashing into the space she'd occupied a moment ago. Forgetting the dustpan, Leia turned to her immediately. "Are you OK?", she said.

She groaned a bit. "I think so... not used to the gravity here...." she pushed herself up, rubbing at the back of her head.

"Do you come from a lower gravity world?", she asked, kneeling down next to the young woman. "All the ones I've been to the gravity has felt standard, but if you're not used to that it might be hard."

Roxas had ventured out in search of something interesting to do. Anything that wasn't wandering the halls of the castle. He was starting to think wading through all the snow wasn't much better though. His coat was better at dragging and getting caught on it all than anything else. Not to mention he stood out starkly against all the white.

He had his hood up at the moment, not really looking to get roped into something with a stranger. There were a lot more people here than on the Isle, and most of them seemed to be out and about today.

He was slowly making his way across the yard in the general direction of Leia's fort, though he didn't appear to realize that. If she was looking for targets, he made for a pretty good one.

As Roxas was making his way through the snow, he would suddenly feel the impact of a snowball against the back of his hooded head, followed by the giggle of a little girl. The source of the giggle would not be immediately visible upon turning around, though the snow that had been deliberately packed together into a low wall would likely be a significant clue as to where the culprit was.

Upon feeling the impact he whirled around, keyblade flashing into existence in his hand. The giggle made him pause though, that wasn't a sound that usually accompanied an attack. He let his defensive stance relax, but kept a hold of Oblivion for now. He could make out the odd shapes of snow a bit ahead and stepped towards it. Was there someone hiding over in the snow? Why? And why were they throwing things at passing strangers?

As he stepped closer, a little girl with pigtails peeked over the snow fort wall. "I got you!", she said with a grin. Then she noticed Oblivion. "Ooh, that looks really neat! What is it?"

Prompto looked over from where he was dusting off and straitening out some picture frames higher up on the wall. He hadn't exactly been ignoring the young girl working a bit down the hall, just... Not going out of his way to greet her. Her comment sparked his interest though. "Cleaning droids?"

"Uh-huh," Leia said not immediately looking up from her work. "They do most of the cleaning at the palace and most other big buildings back home. Living workers usually just supervise. Though they do clean stuff that's delicate or special sometimes. I guess you don't have them where you're-"

And it was about then that she looked up and saw his wings, her eyes widening in surprise. "Oh, you've got wings! Just like Mr. Aziraphale's! Are you an angel too?"

He'd been listening, interested, to her explanation. Droids were some kind of robot, it sounded like? But before he could ask, she changed subject. "Sorry, I- Angel? I'm not sure what those are. I'm just a regular old human, ha."

He hadn't been minding his wings much, but now they curled tight. His hand was frozen mid reach to the next picture frame. He could hear his heartbeat loud in his ears. Regular old human, totally. That was him.

"Are you sure?", Leia said. "I've never met a human with wings before. And yours look just like Mr. Aziraphale's; they're the same color and everything! Mr. Crowley had wings too, but his were all black."

"What is a cleaning droid?" the woman asked, as she moved a piece of furniture for Leia to clean under. Her voice was kind, and a little amused.

Leia looked mildly puzzled at that question. Or at least unsure how to answer it. "They're... well they're droids that are made to clean things," she finally said with a shrug. "Like the little mouse droids that clean floors and stuff."

"I'm guessing you don't have droids where you're from, huh?"

"As I don't know the word, I can't say we do. Unless droid is another word for servant, in which case you should consider that yours might need a good meal and a day off," she said with a warm smile.

"Droids are kinda like servants, yeah, but they're machines," she said. "So they don't really need food or days off, just recharging and sometimes fixing. We do have some living servants too though, like our head chef Memily."
