Missrecalled TDM 1

You aren't sure how you landed here, or even where here is. But here you are. Some new place. Or maybe... maybe it is familiar. Maybe not. So... where are you?

AURADON

Welcome to Auradon! You have woken up in the perfectly manicured grass before a large castle. You're not the only one! if you follow the path to the Castle you'll discover it is the dorm for a large school attached at the back. Everything is amazing and elegant. There is a wing of rooms that are meant for girls, which are generally full of pink and white and sparkles and lace and frills. Very few of the doors are locked, but a lot of them are filled with personal belongings, like these were someone's rooms.

The rooms meant for boys are much the same, though they are more blue and green and flannel. But again, most of the doors are unlocked, even though the rooms look lived in.

On both sides, the rooms each have two beds, and two of everything.

The grounds themselves are well kept and neat with flowers and bushes and lots of places for sitting on the grass to enjoy the sun or share a picnic.

What is missing - in the dorms, on the grounds, in the perfectly clean classrooms are... people. The only people around are those who seem like you, newly arrived and confused.

And then, rushing right at you, are animals. Birds and rabbits and stray cats and dogs!

The Isle

You are in a graveyard. an old poorly cared for graveyard littered with trash. Old crushed cups and molded fruit cores. The whole place had an air of neglects with weeds springing up around what at first seemed to be tomb stones...

But a closer look might make one question them. For these were not tomb stones at all. There were no graves and what was carved into them wasn't names of the dearly departed, but rather sayings exulting evil. Celebrating it. These my dears, were doom stones.

But if the graveyard wasn't a graveyard, then what was the mausoleum that lorded over it all? Going inside would reveal it to be one of the most depressing suffocating horror houses of all - a high school. A poorly kept high school with drafty classrooms, a basement that stunk of mold and chemicals, and trash and graffiti everywhere. Many lockers are dented from the inside out, like something had been trying to escape. But it was eerily quiet now.

Some doors are locked. Most are not. But everything is just in a state of disrepair. One door has a giant spider guarding it, but everything else seems... deserted. Like this school had been abandoned long ago. With even the lights flickering, the whole thing feels almost haunted.

But if you try to use any magic or powers to light the way you might just find the scariest thing of all...

NO MAGIC WORKS HERE!

Welcome to the Isle of the Lost, explore if you dare....

She sook her head and let herself back out. "I don't know if ferals can open it. But if they can't, we can sleep in those little rooms."

"Can't say I'm familiar with ferals. Can say there's no way in forest I could fit in one of those."

Once upon a time, Severn would have said that making Eli speechless was impossible.

Congratulations, Sae, on doing the impossible. The small starved girl was staring at Sae like she was too stupid to live.

Eli's face was an open book. Too stupid to live were almost exactly the words she had thought.

Sæ'sha snorted at that. "Remember how I said in lost. Not sure what this place is, but I definitely don't know it. If there's something dangerous, it looks like there are doors down some of the halls. Even if they don't lock, there's always barricading them."

"We.... could..." but she sounded suspicious now and even more wary than she had been.

Sæ'sha caught that suspicion and rolled her eyes. "Look you wanna sleep in there. Have at it. But. I want my coat back before we part ways. Huh? My captain gave it to me."
elianne: (Seriously?)

More not swearing. "I shouldn't be, but here I am. Now. Seeing as I don't fit in those storage lockers, if staying that way means I need to lock myself in a room, well... maybe I shouldn't stand around here talking, y'know?"

She hesitated then nodded. "Fine, let's find an ocean walled room." and hope no one else was already squatting there.

"Right." Sæ'sha pulled open another of those storage locker out of curiosity and pulled out a jacket, a very worn very strange jacket, definitely made for a kid, though one bigger than Thrai. "Hey, want something that doesn't drag the ground, Thrai?" She tossed the jacket at her without waiting for an answer.

What? No one was stopping her and if they cared about it the locker would have been oh.. locked? Of course, it looked like someone had banged their way out from the inside at least once so maybe it didn't lock anymore.

She caught it, considered, then started pulling open other lockers, raiding them until she had a full change of clothes. Then she started looking around, wondering where she could go to change.

Why anyone had left such amazing things where they could be stolen she didn't know... but as she looked around she spotted something she had missed in one of the lockers. A small crust of bread. Less than a mouthful, and molded. But still. She picked it up and started carefully rubbing the mold off on her pants.

Sæ'sha paused and leaned against a wall while she waited. She didn't make comment on any of it. She had never been hungry enough to go for a moldy piece of bread. But given what she'd seen so far, that could well change.

And then it dawned on her. Wait. Was she babysitting? Why was she babysitting this kid that had tried to kill her? Ugh. She could already imagine H'Naal laughing, which meant she could never let him know.

Once enough of the mold was off - no, not nearly enough was - Eli shoved the bread into her mouth. Then she went back to looking for a place to change.

She rolled her eyes. "Well obviously! But since we gotta find a good room anyway, I figured I could watch the door for you and you could just let me in when you were ready. But I mean if you'd rather find somewhere first, well. I'll be right here. I guess. Got nowhere else to be."

"..... Fine. we'll find a room and you can watch the door," she growled. She muttered threats under her breath that would have sounded more impressive if she were armed, older, and if the threats weren't punctuated by substituted curse words.

"I mean I could just go if you'd like and let you figure it out here. No skin off my back to just try it on my own. But the room idea prolly will end better." For both of them, honestly. Because frankly, two people meant you could watch each others backs. Even if it was just convenience, not friendship.

She nodded and looked around. She picked a door at random and pointed. It was partially open, but not enough to see in. But if it was open, it was probably vacant, right?

Sae'sha went for the door first, listening as she did. It would be more effective if she was better at picking out sound sources, but at the very least she had good ears.

[personal profile] elianne 2022-11-19 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
She nodded and slipped in. She was quick when she changed and then knocked to let her know it was safe. Her black clothes were folded up, except the shirt with the string tie sleeves. The rest of the clothes she was wearing came from the locker, including the jacket that was too big, th vest that was too small, and the pants that.... even rolled were way too large. She was swimming in them with a tattered cloth tied as a belt to keep them up.
