Enki raised an eyebrow sharply and crossed his arms over his chest, which should have been awkward with the bird symbol on the harness he wore, but he did so smoothly. An alternate reality? He had heard about them but never encountered one. Great. Just great, and here all he’d ever wanted in life was to be a vet, but no. He was stuck spying on spies and now apparently stepping into alternate realities. Assuming of course he hadn’t been captured and this wasn’t an illusion.
Working on that assumption, even though he had doubts, he stared back at Mal, eyes narrowed. “Don’t give me a reason to take you down and we should be good.” He didn’t correct her on his name, he only had the one, none of the other three, and he didn’t feel comfortable with her having the whole thing anyway.
