Oui Sports - Winter Edition

Sports are a great way to warm up on a cold day, but sadly all the outdoor sports Ben was ready to teach... Well none of them play so well in a foot plus of snow. And that foot plus was after getting help from those with magic who could melt some of it down for them. And when Mal was asked about winter sports on the Isle the answer was "It's more like... gang activity, than sports. And if someone broke their leg, we kinda laughed, so... Not really applicable here."

So they instead asked the Missrecalled to show off games and sports that can be played in deep snow. But the best games need more than one person, so maybe you need to find someone to play with?

Happy Little Cleaning Song

After so long with so many people all cramped into the school for so long that there was more than a little bit of mess. They could use a hand clearing everything up. Whistling while you work and a spoonful of sugar were both advised. But cleaning was always a better task with a buddy! And Team Work Makes The Dream Work, right?

The Isle

Gang Activities

What had once been a dank and dreary school in a mausoleum was now an icy dreary one. The ground outside was a mix of ice, muddy slush, and rocks. Neither fun nor pretty. But it was probably safer outside than in, and easier to be active dodging doomstones than skidding down the halls into broken lockers. But it was still frigid out. Perhaps some activity would help warm you up. But what? And whom with? Snowball fights might be a little extra dangerous, with all the muck mixed in and no place to go warm up. But maybe someone might be up for it anyway? Or stealing a doomstone to sled down the roof? What are you gonna do to stay warm?

Got No Chill?

Someone decided that there needed to be a fire to warm people up. Maybe that would have been a good idea, if the person who had started the fire had anything clue about fire safety. They - or maybe you! - had started the fire in one of the classrooms using broken desks for kindling. But the fire quickly spread to the other desks in the room and with so much paper detritus in the halls! Stop the fire, warn people, run away! Pick you poison but do it fast, the way this fire's spreading, this school might not last!

He nodded slowly. "Could he use some assistance with that?" Not that tech was his specialty, but he might be able to help somewhat if there was no one better skilled.

"They, and you can ask them, certainly. I think they're working in the gym right now. Or possibly taking a break playing on the VR sets they set up for us."

"I'll do that. Where is the gym?" he asked.

"There's a map on the cell phone," she said with a grin. Then she relented and dropped to her feet. "C'mon, I'll show you the way."

That was good to know for the future.

"Thank you," he said. "How long has this problem been going on?"

"Which one? We have several," she said, heading into the school.

"The one that's caused all the blockades and sending for people from other realms," Sephiroth said.

"Ah, a little over a year now, unfortunately."

That ... was not encouraging.

"You've been stranded like this for over a year with very little progress in being able to fix it?"

Would he really be able to do anything to help under such circumstances?

"Well, I haven't been stranded," she said with a smirk.

A bit of a dark smirk. "Touche. I suppose that's one upside of having a problem in your own backyard."

And a downside would be what the Heartless had done to his home.

"Has to be one somewhere." She laughed.

"Sometimes it's much harder to find any kind of silver lining," he remarked, thinking on the problems back home.

"This is Auradon, I wouldn't be surprised if half the suits and dresses were made with actual silver lining. Or gold," she quipped. Thanks to having Evie for a best friend she knew more about how clothing was actually made than she ever thought she would want to...

"Really," Sephiroth smirked, continuing the joke. "You're not lacking for wealth then."

"Auradon's always been known for that since it has been founded."

"It looks it," Sephiroth acknowledged.

"Took some getting used to," she admitted.

"It was different where you were before?" Sephiroth asked.

"Oh very," she said with a chuckle. "I grew up learning which bread molds can be eaten, which ones to scrape off, and which ones to trick your enemies into eating."

How thoroughly unappetizing.

"What place has a way of life like that?"

All amusement was gone with that question. "The Isle of the Lost. Just across the ocean. Twenty years ago, the King who ruled before King Ben rounded up all the villains and their minions, anyone who didn't agree with the morals and ideals he saw as worthy of being encouraged and locked them behind a magical barrier, trapping them on the Isle. Even brought them back from death to lock them away, to make sure no one could bring them back to life out here. That's the neighborhood I grew up in. My mom ruled the adults of the Isle. I ruled the kids." More or less. "Meant we got first pick of the trash from the barges of garbage Auradon sent over."

Sephiroth wasn't at all sure he liked or agreed with that, and he was indignant at the news of the garbage. "They considered the Isle their garbage dump?"

"They did. If they didn't, we wouldn't have gotten anything to eat at all," she said with a scowl.

Well, that was sickening. No one deserved that, and the children of the villains would have been innocent of their parents' evil besides.

"How did you end up here?" he wondered.
