There was a good longish moment of hesitation as she approached, the hidden one watching her carefully, trying to figure out what it was she was holding. And then, impossibly, the plants themselves moved. Not all of them, but the fig-like trees certainly did. After a moment, it was clear that it really wasn't the nonexistent breeze disturbing their foliage; they were shifting where they stood, several of them working their roots back up out of the soil so that they could turn a little, shifting their branches to close gaps between them, and smaller trees shifting forward to replant themselves between the bigger ones at the treeline, turning the edge of the forest into a sort of loose living wall. Not one without spaces to duck between, of course, but it would at least be more difficult now, and certainly harder to see into it...

Behind all that, however, she just might catch sight of that shape again -- now that she was watching for it, a humanoid. They weren't incredibly tall, but almost certainly an adult's size, and were stepping more toward the castle, backing up among the trunks into the leaves and shade, keeping an eye on her all the while. She'd only just make out a face, in the shadows - the dark spots where the light didn't quite hit their eyes well enough, it seemed, and a brief moment where the contours were more visible, sharp cheekbones and a rather more pointed nose and chin... perhaps they were wearing a mask? But then they'd backed up too much to catch another good view of them, turned and headed away. She could follow, if she wanted, but did she really dare set foot into a forest that'd just done what this one had?

Of course, if she didn't, and let whoever that was simply leave... who knew how that might turn out for her? Would they tip someone off about her presence?
