How many times had Darkwing foolishly tried to convince her to turn over a new leaf? Even after she betrayed him time and time again, he still thought there was light within her. What an adorable fool.
Perhaps she should have been concerned with the "costume change" going on with Mal, she was too wrapped up in the performance to really worry.
